Hi Everyone,
Since I have a new job I won't be able to get off 2 months in spring or summer.
So i decided that probably next year in August I will
-Walk 50% of the pilgrimage, continue later
-Take the bike! for about 3,5 - 4 weeks.
Since i'm not really a cyclist, I had some questions about doing the henro trail on a bike. Hope someone can answer my questions!
- For someone who doesnt really cycles frequently, is this a problem? I guess I would need some training first..
- Did you a buy a bike in Tokushima/Naruto? If so where? I hope there is a shop where the owner speaks a little English, my Japanese is very basic. Also I would just want to buy a used bicycle, not too expensive.
- Did you bring repair gear and a pump from home? Would I need any more stuff? I am planning on not bringing too much, just a backpack with necessities since i'm staying in minshuku.
- Did you have much trouble finding the path? Since there aren't any specific bike maps as far as I know. Especially in the mountains and such.
- Any Tips?
