I'm not really sure what you are asking here. If you want to do the walk up to Sasayama Jinja, the route seems clearly marked in the guidebook.
It starts on the top right of Map 55, the right page. Look for the red lettering that says "Round-trip to Sasayama Jinja." I think you already saw that.
The trail works north past Kankikoji.
From the top of the page, go to Map 58 and start on the bottom of the right page. On the way up to Sasayama Jinja (Shrine) you will pass Sasayama-bashi and Parking Lot No. 1.
From Sasayama Jinja, you can turn around and go back the way you came, making it a round trip, or continue heading north. You can see on the map that at the top of the right page for Map 58 the trail curls to the west, going over to the top of the left page for Map 58.
From the top of Map 58 left, the trail continues to to the bottom of Map 57-b, entering the page on the very bottom right hand corner.
The trail takes you to Manganji temple, from where you can head north on the Noizaka Henro Trail or go west over to the highway. Both trails put you back on the main henro trail.
