I‘m missing this very useful list the old forum had.
Forum members might be able to give information updating the Route Guide’s 6th version.
And sometimes I‘m just curious: what happend to the wonderful Kokumin Shukusha above Temple 36?

I stayed at the Kokumin Shukusha above T36 in 2017, i think. I was there but didn't spend the night in 2018 and don't remember thinking it was closed. If it has closed since then i haven't heard about it. Next time i go by i'll check and post a note one way or another.

As for providing updates to 88 Route Guide, there is a special page on the forum for that. All corrections, suggestions, etc. will be passed on to the publisher just to make sure he sees them. But, he's already a member of the forum so he may see them in any case.

    Thanks.

In the beginning of Nov. 2017 it was fully booked (a holiday-weekend), but Kokumin Shukusha is no longier listed in the 6th edition. And on Google Earth only „Villa Santorini“ is on record...
I will stay at Sanyō-sō in April but might be too tired/lazy pulling myself up the steep incline just for curiosity.
And off topic: thank you for this website and forum!

I asked the publisher of 88 Route Guide about Kokumin Shukusha Tosa. He says that Villa Santorini bought it and converted it from an inexpensive kokumin shukusha into an expensive annex for Villa Santorini.

The nights of spending an hour hanging out in the outdoor bath and marveling at the view overlooking the bay are now done for me, i suppose.
