Does anyone have up to date information on the Oshikoku Guesthouse, right near Ryozenji/Temple #1?
I saw on TripAdvisor that it's permanently closed.

It's not in my guidebook so I assume it's closed.

I think they have closed from last Mar. when we got there last year (April), none was there and we had to go to Tokushima station to find a cheaper hotel.
However, I heard there is a new guest house (henrohouse 88) that is 300m from #1 temple. 2800Yen p/p
It is a part of NPO henrohouse88 project started from 2015. See detail below website.
https://henrohouse.jp/en
This NPO is trying to open 88 guesthouse around henro trail by 2020.
Now they have about 23 guest houses in Shikoku.
Sudachikan, Misono, etc are now its menbers.

I stayed at the Ryozenji Henro House guesthouse in March. It's especially sweet because the woman who runs it will take you in the morning to Ryozenji and orient you on temple etiquette.
